No. Standard ergonomic chairs are pre-designed products with adjustable features. Build-A-Chair is a system that builds seating from individual components, selected for specific physical and postural needs.

Many users we support have already tried multiple ergonomic chairs. When discomfort persists, the issue is often not adjustment — but incorrect base design, support geometry, or component interaction.​

Do I need a clinical referral?

Not always. However, where clinical input exists, it can help inform component selection and configuration.​

Is this suitable for employers and organisations?

Yes. Build-A-Chair is commonly used in complex reasonable adjustment cases, Occupational Health referrals, and education settings where standard solutions have failed.​​

 

How is the chair set up correctly?

Chairs are configured either on site when delivered or via video consultation if delivered direct in the user’s real working environment, ensuring correct setup that the user is fully educated on how the chair functions correctly providing maximum support with confidence.

Is this a one-off purchase?

The chair is built to the user’s current needs. Where requirements change, configuration can be reviewed and adapted.
